Who the fuck wants to eat a sweet flavoured like flowers/perfume? Not a joke.
Idea for an advert.
Open on two KIDS visiting GRANNY at the nursing home. No sound but a clock ticking. The KIDS are bored.
Kid 1: sighs
Suddenly, in an explosion of light and colour, our new exciting youth-appealing mascot VIOLENT VIOLET bursts into the scene.
Violent Violet: Hey kids! Did you ever wish you could eat granny’s perfume?
Kid 1: No.
Kid 2: What? No.
Kid 1: Gross.
Violent Violet: I’ll fucking cut you.
To be developed but I think it has potential.
Oh i love these things
I think these things are like marmite: you either love them or hate them, but there really doesn’t seem to be a middle ground. Plus, almost everyone I’ve ever met who knows these hates them, so it’s interesting for me to see people posting here about loving them (not that they aren’t welcome to, of course).
These look just like Smarties, but all purple.

No hate for Smarties, though, but no love for them, either. They’re fine. Consistency of chalk, taste mostly like sugar. I didn’t hate getting them at Halloween.
Smarties are a great example of a solid but not great candy. I’m never mad if I am given some but don’t seek them out on my own time
Have you had Parma violets? They are hard, brittle sweets that taste like perfume. Also, in the UK, smarties are something else entirely
Nope, and based on this post, I plan not to, especially after my experience with Necco wafers. Those things are criminally awful. I got a pack of chocolate, and they were like epoxied sawdust flavored with the memories of chocolate long past.
Good call
Why would you want candy that tastes like perfume?
I don’t. I think they’re shit.
Rockets are better
I liked smarties. Not the greatest but Id say 7/10
I love violet flavor but these taste like soap to me
I’m someone who disagrees.
I love me some parma violets, I’ve actually got several packs of the giant ones right now. And as for who would want to eat a sweet flavoured like a flower, go ask the Turkish about rosewater flavoured Turkish Delight.
Parma Violets were created in 1946…
They’ve apparently been on sale for 80 years, so someone must like them.
A lot of people don’t like black licorice, but enough do, including me, that it’s still made and sold.
Never trust anything the British came up with during rationing.
I know. Poor people…
Violet jumpscare! It’s been awhile…
You meet again…
Yum. Sour chalk. You can even get in a stylish necklace.
Actually, I always remember the necklaces/bracelets as more like the love heart sweets (I actually quite like them). Plz don’t say they make a PV version too, that’s just wrong
Never had these, but violet flavored gum is delicious.
Obviously I can’t say for sure, but even that somehow sounds as if it’d taste different to these crap discs
internert tells me they’re violet flavored
like. the flower? candy taste like flower?
britain is truly a deplorable land.
Violets have been made into liqueur for ages. And it’s actually quite tasty.
Try an Aviation cocktail, or a Water Lily sometime. They’re delightful - and I’m saying that as someone who hates gin with a passion.
Haven’t had either but the Bramble is another example of gin being turned into something portable.
But yeah, I have French violet mints and violet bar syrup that I just put into water. Floral can be tasty.
candy taste like flower?
More eating like floral-scented dish soap in powder form.
britain is truly a deplorable land
We in Scotland take no responsibility for this crime against humanity.
We in Scotland take no responsibility for this crime against humanity.
Fried Mars bars have a lot of heavy lifting to do to make up for this one.
Yep. Pretty much.
As a foreigner living in the UK, I will admit these felt weird the first time I tried them (especially when compared to Love Hearts), but they eventually grew on me. I would easily smash a packet of those right now.
OP is a weakling, defeated by a flower.
Is “shit” an adjective now?
shitly
They taste like shit
