If you have a gas stove and can’t afford, or don’t want to switch to electric, keep a window open in the kitchen while you cook. This is especially important if your over-the-range hood does not vent to the outside (yes, that’s a thing.) If your hood does vent to the outside, turn it on every time you cook and you’re golden.

It’s only a problem for our species. And, only for future potential members of our species. The declining birth rate isn’t going to hurt anyone alive today. Not even billionaires, not in any way that matters.

Overall, the Earth would be much happier and peaceful without us. We’re not special, we’re just selfish.

Finally, probably, even in the worst human-caused catastrophe, at least some pockets of humanity would survive. Again, though, not that it really matters.

Most holiday celebrations stop dead the day after. Halloween decorations are taken down, we go back to normal meals after the Thanksgiving leftovers are gone, Christmas music is gone from public spaces, New Year’s is over on the second, once the hangover is gone. Easter doesn’t even last a whole day, and the majority of us don’t really celebrate Valentine’s day.

So, why can’t people stop setting off fucking fireworks on July 5th? I swear to god, these assholes… days before and weeks after. Can it just please be one day?

No. I don’t hate them, I envy them.

I remember some places more than others, and I might have forgotten one or two. I moved around a lot from ages 18 to 32.

Sentimental? Only a bit about the house I grew up in. But, my parents owned it until their deaths, so I was there somewhat regularly. We sold it a few years back when dad died. I’ve lived in my own house for nearly 30 years now, I’m not at all sentimental about it. It’s just a roof over my head for me and my son.

I suppose I’m more sentimental about my childhood, than the house I grew up in, come to think of it.

My guess is they used a very old version of Acrobat, because they’re cheap-ass mofos with no idea how software works or the fact that this redacting issue with Acrobat has been an issue for governments and businesses for decades.

Let them go as big as they want, but they’re heavily taxed on any residence they control (it can’t be “owned” because there are ways around that word) but don’t live in for at least six months plus one day out of the year. Make this true for everyone. We’re not telling anyone they can’t have a second “vacation” house, just that it won’t be cheap and certainly not profitable. Doesn’t apply to multifamily rental properties of four or more units. Single family home rentals are destroyed, suddenly the market is flooded with cheap homes.

Also, we need to make it international, in that they’ll be taxed at home for any residences controlled overseas. Of course, they’ll hide them behind shell businesses owned through Nevis, but that’s a different problem that should also be addressed.
