Man a cleaning robot would be kinda neat, but realistically it would have too much potential to make a huge fucking mess. Like, a roomba that drives over dog poop can only mess up in a single dimension but a full-ass robot?! Just imagine the mess it would make literally every time it takes out the trash. Or if it mistakes a flower pot full of dirt for a dish that needs to go in the dishwasher.
There’s no way these things will be affordable for most tasks. It takes a million dollars to raise an American worker, but many people will quickly suffer and starve if they don’t work for a small cleaning wage.
I wouldn’t be quite so pessimistic! Many places, especially in Europe, have been making massive breakthroughs in consumer rights to repair and data privacy laws.
