Is The Oatmeal (the creator of this comic) a right winger? Everything I know about him is saying otherwise.

The Oatmeal comic was still created as a reaction to an incredibly homophobic comment from an extreme right winger before he died.

So even though it’s an alteration, it’s still exactly how the comic was originally designed.

I get what you’re saying, but there’s something funny about your comment that is basically saying “even though it’s different, it’s the same.”

SO I dug a bit and the original is from a comic called Literally where he pokes fun of the word literally being used as its own antonym instead of figuratively.

Specifically he mocks a quote from some dead bigot.
