Oh no! Someone think of the Christian values that even Christians don’t actually adhere to and just weaponize when it is convenient for them!

Not wanting a grown man to wiggle his cock around in a child’s face is a terrible conservative value?

I love how conservatives immediately reach for the 'think of the children’s card, but then immediately treat women and children like shit.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting kids to be safe, but implying gay people wave their dangly bits in front of kids is a false accusation at best.

I like that if you start at “Sanctity of marriage”, something the radical right clearly does not actually value, and work counterclockwise the terms get increasingly vague and meaningless until they completely phone it in with “Etc”. What values.

“If robosexual marriage becomes legal, imagine the horrible things that will happen to our children, then imagine we said those things, since we couldn’t think of any. As a mother, those things worry me.” -Futurama

So I like playing the cinnamon rolls game. Every time you see “marriage” instead read “a common law government contract that bestows rights and responsibilities and formalizes systems of inheritance and power of attorney in cases of incapacity, originally managed by churches because religions were the original governments” and the word sanctity loses all meaning by the end of a discussion with a homophobia

The etc is really a “you know what i mean” here.

As in “this cartoon is preaching to the choir”. It doesn’t make people think or do anything butnnod knowingly.

What a waste of even a little creativity.

And what these right wingers always conveniently forget is that their religion only tells THEM what to do, it has no impact on anyone else.

All of these “values” can remain 100% unaffected within themselves, they just want the bigotry of forcibly imposing these “values” on others.

And that’s their problem - they’re screaming bloody murder because their ability to be tyrannical authoritarians is being taken away.

Just ask for forgiveness at death or on Sunday and they good, meanwhile they feel they have a pass to be assholes to everyone else. Anyways, that’s just my observation. Ever had a argument wit a conservative Christian? Man they go nuts if you ask is that what Jesus would do?

And yet, if you paint the steamroller a gaudy fake gold color and have it being driven by every conservative you’ve heard about in the last year, it gets way more true!

I’m an old straight white guy with a pretty normie-looking family, and I know damn well that almost every LGBT+ person out there shares more of my values and gives more of a shit about my marriage than the conservative grifters out there.

Is The Oatmeal (the creator of this comic) a right winger? Everything I know about him is saying otherwise.

The Oatmeal comic was still created as a reaction to an incredibly homophobic comment from an extreme right winger before he died.

So even though it’s an alteration, it’s still exactly how the comic was originally designed.

SO I dug a bit and the original is from a comic called Literally where he pokes fun of the word literally being used as its own antonym instead of figuratively.

Specifically he mocks a quote from some dead bigot.

I would offer that conservatives have done more to destroy traditional values and the sanctity of marriage than the LGBT crowd.
