I once met a woman that was in her late 20s. Worked in tech for 3 years in Prague, and had a pretty TV style British accent.

She was from the Midwest. Spent 3 years in Prague and visited the UK like 3 times, then moved back to Chicago. Insisted she “worked with a lot of Brits and it just stuck.”

Yeah, I’ve worked with a lot of tall people. Didn’t make me grow taller.

You should have worked with small people. That works better.

        Can confirm.

Am short and have dragged many coworkers down from their lofty peaks to my dreaded land of needing step ladders.

Also occasionally delving too greedily and too deep.

Being below average height is where it’s at. I rarely bump my head on anything. I’m a smaller target for gunfire (am American). I have never had an issue finding clothes or shoes in my size. The world is built for me. And I guess 5’8 ain’t too short, but it’s below average, and so I’ve accepted it.

5’9" if I’m not slouching. Which I do when I’m standing, so I look even shorter.

As a fellow Burgerreicher, I truly appreciate you pointing out that we’re both smaller targets!

She said she was in tech for some international company getting set up there. I can’t recall the name, but it wasn’t any company I recognized. This was also maybe 20 years ago she would have been there.

Tech she said, definitely wasn’t embassy. What embassy would have Americans and people from the UK working together?
