One thing about AI search I’ve noticed is that it’s a lot harder to find inconvenient information on things like this.

The closest thing I could find was that she walked back the claim and endorsed him for president. I wonder if this is related to how she fell down the stairs and got buried on the back 9

Oh yes, I knew about his spousal rape way back in 2000 when it was brought up in an article I read. My wife remembers him on a show like the lifestyles of the rich and famous where Trump explains that he records everything on his property and uses the recordings to influence people. Basically admitting he was a black mailer.

He was known as a racist, a thief, a liar and a conman before he was reincarnated on The Apprentice which is a yet another very interesting story. Imagine my horror when he ran for Presidency a second time in 2016. But I digress.

Ivana was very open about the rape and there is no doubt it happened. She was also adamant that it should not affect his ability to do business. Apparently she was paid well to keep her mouth shut and even repent what she said about the rape. He eventually buried her on a golf course for a tax break after a fall from the stairs.

Good for her, but 5.62 million is too small. The EU has a much better track record of holding rich entities to account based on percentages of their wealth instead of set amounts. When you have a set amount fee it’s only a problem for the poor.

Yes, that means a speeding ticket for Jeff Bezos should cost him $525,000,000, which is the equivalent between what he earned in 2023 (70 billion) multiplied by the current fee of about 300 on the average person’s yearly income.

The vast majority of EU countries don’t have income-dependent traffic fines. The EU itself can only fine corporations.

In fact, the kind of settlement reached in this case would be impossible in many EU jurisdictions, many of whom have no possibility for punitive damages. So E. Jean Carroll would only have been able to recuperate her actual, proven damages in those systems, and might have been able to force Trump to publish a rectification, but not much more.

On the other hand, a criminal conviction for rape would have been far more likely in many of these systems, if not in this case, then likely in others. For example, it is hard to imagine no investigation being started when someone claims under oath they were raped, as did happen in the US legal system.

Oh good God frame that check and sell it to the New York center for women’s history after she deposits it. They’ll take good care of it.

What exactly made him hand over the money? He’s been so obstinate about everything and able to avoid accountability,it’s almost shocking he finally handed it over. What exactly made Donald Trump finally comply with a law? Seems like a rather important thing to find out if you oppose him.

In order to appeal he had to put the money he owed her up front. They just released the money to her

He already lost the case 3 years ago. He didn’t want to pay so he wanted to appeal and the courts needed the settlement money set aside for whatever reason. They didnt overturn the ruling so the money was awarded. He didn’t release the money to her the courts did and you can bet he’s still out there defaming her and setting himself up for more lawsuits from her for that.
