Fun fact: I used to work adjacent to the nuclear industry, going through one of the penis-checkers with a dosimeter badge would exceed our monthly allowable exposure to radiation.

Mostly accurate, although the flight delays tend to be announced one short delay at a time. “We’re going to be a few minutes late pulling out from the gate.” “We missed out takeoff window, so we’re going to have a 20 minute delay.” “We need to refile our paperwork, so we’re heading back to the gate.” “Ground crew changed shift, so we need another 45 minutes.” And so on…

So true. As a teen my bf and I accidentally ruined his big sister’s birthday because of this. We were waiting for a flight that kept getting delayed all day and by the time it finally got cancelled, his sister had to postpone her plans to drive to the airport to get us. She was all dressed up in a sexy anime-esque/lolita style and it was clear we ended up cockblocking her birthday date. I felt so bad, but there was nothing we could do.

Yeah, if they announced 72hrs you could just leave the airport and go do somethings else. Had a 4hr delay once and I used the opportunity to leave and get something nice to eat somewhere food doesn’t cost 5x more for no reason

You’re playing with fire. They can delay it 6 hours, then 20 minutes later something changes and they leave. No guarantee the delay doesn’t get shorter, safest thing is to stay at the gate.

Can’t leave, everyone has already boarded and they’ve closed the doors.

Also, no leaving your seat until after takeoff.

That has always been the most fucked up part about flight delays. They get everybody boarded and seated, plane is ready to go, maybe you start taxiing, and then you’re just sitting there waiting for potentially hours.

I refuse to believe that returning the plane to the terminal jetway and allowing the passengers to deboard is some kind of unsolvable conundrum or major issue that can’t be surmounted with better logistics. They have never been able to properly explain why they can’t do exactly that, other than that they don’t want to do the paperwork.

They’d stop doing that if by law they had to give a free meal if they delay more than 30 minutes your flight while you are sitting.

They really check genitals at airports in USA? I thought it was just pointing how absurd the law would have to be, not that they implemented it.

They do a full body scan, and if you present female then your penis shows up as an unidentified mass that needs explanation.

And it’s true, I haven’t seen my master in a year now, so if you get grabby you’re going to get poked right back. Anything beyond that though, ima need cash or card first.

Note that they implemented this during the middle eastern wars started in 2001-2003, with the excuse of “terrorism” and not during the current wave of trans hyperawareness and bigotry.

Kinda like the first wave of internet censorship and monitoring which was implemented around 2007, and exposed by Snowden in ~2013

Checking out your naked form was a bonus back then, not the excuse. Also to pelt you with unnecessary radiation. I did not comply in 2018 when leaving the UK, but I did when leaving the US, because I didn’t want to try my chances in the US legal system, and wanted to leave ASAP.

If you want to exercise your rights, you can always prefer to be groped by a TSA/Your country’s equivalent instead of getting in the DickChecker9000. At least it slows down their job and forces them to do something instead of sitting by idly as they check out naked people.

Honey, the best case scenario is that they see your genitals and only ask you to explain.

TSA workers can, will, and do grope anyone they find ‘suspicious’ and have the right to continue until they no longer deem you suspicious.

And that’s without mentioning the thousands of allegations of what happens in the closed-door security rooms for ‘enhanced’ security searches.

You best hope you’re not attractive to whatever sentient meatball they put in a suit with an incredibly basic background check that only cares for felonies (of which most sex crimes are not), poor training, and practically no oversight.

Yeah, this seems right. I had an easier time going through Brussels Zaventem during the September 2025 airport cyberattacks than I did Dallas-Fort Worth first week of this past January (before the TSA strike started). Even my straightest, cis-est, whitest, most American coworker (this is how he describes himself) got stopped and taken to a separate room for 40 minutes, and then we got rebooked to a flight two days later with no hotel accommodations, and no car. The cherry on top was having to do the whole security dance in full all over again.

    Fun.

If it is, this is the most pointless objection I’ve seen in ages. Grow the fuck up.

It’s the exact opposite. Why would anyone allow themselves to be exploited by the Nazi bar? The opponents of this comic are quite literally blessed there.

I contended with aggregative purposes, but more mirroring away from Nazis would be welcomed.

Because people are still there. If I was moving from Lemmy one day, I doubt that with my current following I’d have a lot of people following me away too. Only big artists can afford that.

Personally I don’t use X, and only use Reddit very rarely (some subreddits are just not on Lemmy…). Although I don’t think bluesky is a nazi platform, I don’t trust them either as they seems to be a wolf in cloth form

Dangerous thinking, but I empathize with the aggregative logic. I also did an analysis of this as well.

I pray D.L.L. makes threadiverse accounts, Activitypub, Webtoons, Tapas, jabber, and many more mirrors so that Nazis can’t exploit her, and her followers. I am glad she has neocities accounts.
