You know what Doug? That guy south of the border? He says the exact same fucking bullshit and you’re not making us feel secure at all.

We need to all start organizing NOW so we can elect an NDP Ontario government. Imagine an NDP provincial government with the federal liberals

Nothing constructive? Like a hundred billion tunnel under Toronto to bypass the 401? Or how about a hundred million to remove some Toronto bike lanes on some streets that isn’t even anywhere near capacity instead of worrying about streets that have actual gridlock? Or selling off important farmland to make only a few thousand homes in the middle of nowhere instead of actually building homes that are close to things like actual stores or work places? Or building a bypass for a bypass that isn’t anywhere near capacity over the same farmland because the courts blocked the previous sale of them? Or the hundred million he was going to give to Musk to give free internet to a handful of rural communities when they could just buy it themselves if they wanted internet? Or how about selling the Ontario Place to a spa company when Toronto spas doesn’t even make a decent profit already, or that they didn’t even operate an actual chain of spas that they said they did when they bid for the spot? Or how he’s tearing down the Ontario Science Center because of ‘leaky roofs’ to make parking lots when Torontonians managed to fundraise enough money to permanently fix the roofs at zero cost to the government? Or how about the province-wide bribe he made just this winter right before the Ontario election? Or how about his trip to the states where he spent most of his time on CNN complaining to Americans about random crap on the taxpayer’s dime? Or how he had one decent idea in surcharging electricity to the US, only to fold when an American offered to talk about talking about the Trump tariffs?

Exactly where has Ford done anything that wasn’t a massive waste of money since he was first elected?

Honestly dude where do you get that idea? For the last ten fucking years the liberals and NDP have been saying that they want TO CUT taxes for working and middle class people. Sure, if you make over $250k a year, you might see you taxes go up… Like 5k a year? Boohoo :"( do you even comprehend how much 250k actually is in real terms?

$250k comes out to $148k roughly after taxes (if you live in Ontario).

THATS JUST OVER $12K A MONTH.

After tax, so idk how anybody even in this housing market we have should be having a fucking problem affording life and having a good time. You could literally have a $4000/ month mortgage and be in the “affordable” range. Get fucked

All I know is the NDP propping up a minority liberal federal government saved me 2000 a month in daycare costs. So I sincerely doubt that nothing would get done.

I wouldn’t even be considering a 3rd child if that program wasn’t there.

    Judges are a vital service.

Ford having an issue with a judge that is overseeing a case that was brought forward by the people of Ontario is Ford having an issue with the people.

The Judge is doing a bipartisan job to judge the facts presented by both parties in a equal and fair manner.

We see in the USA just how dangerous it is when a leader stops respecting the judiciary. This is not a good look for Doug Ford, especially at this moment.

He waits until the federal election ends and then acts like this. Maybe Ontario will be due for another, this time needed, emergency provincial election

There are absolutely repeat, violent offenders that keep coming in and out of the system, promising rehab programs and never following through, getting in contact with those they’re not meant to.

A judge recently gave a guy two years for killing an elderly Eritrean-Canadian man on the TTC. The guy had 48 convictions, 17 for violent crimes, and 10 convictions for assaulting people on public transport since 2017. The only long term restriction is that he’ll have to engage with a substance abuse program, the same one he’s already abandoned after being ordered to attend it twice before. It’s going to happen again. I can’t imagine what the family is going through. That’s one story, we all know many.

Rather than propose meaningful ways to fix broken parts of the system, Ford just does his idiotic shtick with suggestions like these to look like he cares but his hands are tied.

Does DoFo have any jurisdiction over judges? I guess I don’t know how our judge system works, anybody here know?
