But sometimes seeing most creators not expressing any shock at these unprecedented times makes me think “damn this seems dystopian”.
I imagine what would the world be like if streaming was available during Hitlers rise.

No. The saying is to communicate that a streamer, whose livelihood depends on their audience continue tuning in, won’t acknowledge things that would turn their audience off. Or in the more extreme, they won’t personally believe the things happening because it would mean they’d need to say something which would affect their paycheck.
The result is the same. They don’t talk about it.
