Ok so @NVAccess I’m on #NVDA 2026.3, whatever the current beta is, and have this odd thing happening. I get what sounds like an error beep from NVDA at random when things like notifications come in, or something causes NVDA to announce something, like someone typing in discord, or when opening drop down menus on webpages. It’s random, inconsistent, but at least once has fallen into a lop and forced me to restart NVDA.
@dhamlinmusic @main random error beeps can be tricky - and remember the beta plays those sounds where the stable version inhibits them by default, but if you can pin down something reproducible, then we’d love an issue on GitHub please!
@NVAccess @main Yeah I cannot figure out what causes them, most often it seems to be when something pushes to speech or braille without actually changing focus, like the notifications being read, the someone is typing messages in discord when focus is on the edit field, etc, but it’s not every time. The other times seem to be where something forces a switch between modes.
