This is the official Tokon YouTube account isn’t it? Really hope there’s no slop in this game, I can’t handle the disappointment after what happened with Avatar Legends…
In addition to acquiring Avatar Legends/TFH/Diesel Legacy/Abare Engine/etc from Modus, the Gameplay Group company also quietly hired on Mike Z as a developer. Then they refused to tell anybody who asked whether they had done that or not. AFAIK they still haven’t admitted it, but he’s in the discord with a developer role.
For additional context, Mike Z is the original dev behind Skull Girls, and he has a long history of being a total piece of shit. To the point where his entire own company left him.
Ah, then he was hired for the game engine.
I thought it was something far worse like adding slop to the game, or stealing work.
I am mixed about Mike Z’s engine being used for the game, and hiring him as core dev or consultant. I know for sure if I had a budget like Paramount’s I would be doing much much more.So long as Zionists aren’t involved, I think I can overlook this fact. Is Mike even dealing with people anymore?
I would’ve thought they’d keep him as far under the radar as possible, but he’s certainly not hiding in the discord? He’s been pretty quiet for a long time now, I’m assuming because of all the various lawsuits. That said, those lawsuits started wrapping up recently, roughly around the time he surfaced again.
I’m not willing to overlook it despite putting a lot of hours into the beta and loving it, but I’m not holding it against anybody. Most people don’t even know, I think?

Yeah, I was one of them until you enlightened me. I don’t read&follow resetera, so I am extremely ignorant on what they announce. I guess Paramount requires employees use the company Discord for him to expose himself that way? I dunno, I am troubled. I don’t buy games anyways. I mutual aid, and compensate directly if I liked the art.

Marvel闘魂 is as upcoming fighting game developed by ArcSys. The only reason I am ambivalent in making a /c/marvelstudios@lemmy.world post is that while the “episodes” will get animated, it won’t be a tv/film thing.
