Has anyone managed to make DIY desk chair?

So want a new desk chair, but the thing is I was thinking making one. My idea is to buy desk chair parts and put them together.
Anyone has done it? Was it successful? Any tips?

Cylinder you mean the one thats stands up in the middle

Yes they come in different lengths (and strengths) and I wanted a taller one because I’m tall.
