We are ruled by the dumbest dipshits on the planet.
For some reason that’s the biggest bummer of it all to me, how incredibly dumb and powerful these people are. I’m starting to think someone has to be dumb to want to exert power over another person in the first place. I’m sure it fuels their egos too.
I wonder what its like to live like that, it sounds incredibly foreign.
Intelligence and the drive for ruthless power aren’t necessarily connected. For these dumb MAGA Apes, ruthless power is just a toy to play with.
They’re dumb but they’re also ruthless, they rape and kill children with their bare hands, don’t underestimate them just because they’re dumb.
Even more fucked when you consider these are the prices in the US with oil subsidies. It would be so much more expensive without them, and only gas-powered vehicles would be paying, and not all of us…
Except that all goods require shipping and most shipping is also done by gas powered vehicles. I wish there was a way to opt out but I don’t see it being possible.
Well if there wasn’t a subsidy then it would probably be easier to have some long haul trucks switch to hydrogen or lithium ion or come up with something new. We could even subsidize those instead. I would probably do it over time, though, shrinking the subsidy a little bit every year. Eventually we would want some sort of environmental cost being factored in. With these changing slowly over time, it would incentivize new long haul trucks being alternative fuel while also not straight up destroying all current trucking infrastructure and fleets.
As of today, there isn’t a place in the US where gas is below $4/gallon, according to GroundNews
A Gallon is 4 Liters right? I just checked the current Diesel price in my country and it’s at 9.80USD/Gallon. I hate to agree with the Donald here, but those prices are actually peanuts.
I’m really tired of everyone comparing the US to countries with completely different fuel consumption profiles.
In 2024, 72% of all US freight was transported by trucks. For reference, the EU average was 25% road (sea was 67% with optimal fuel efficiency). Freight is also transported over much longer distances, making gas prices a larger part of operating costs. So already, high gas prices hit much harder in the USA than most places.
Secondly, population density and existing infrastructure require personal car use. There is almost never a rail or public transport option. Despite lower prices and higher average income, fuel spending is a larger percentage of household spending in the US than the EU (especially among the poorer population).
Yes you’re right, I agree with you that the conditions are very different because of the reasons you mentioned and the other financial factors like food and rent are probably different too. I admit my original comment comes of very ignorant rereading it now a couple hours later, sorry about that
Well it’s a bit more of a problem when pretty much no infrastructure exists for public transit or cycling for the vast majority of the US
We in the USA prepay to a degree for gasoline. Our taxes subsidize the at pump costs to a significant portion. We get charged twice if not more for what we are considering outrageous prices in the US.
I went from paying about 24 dollars a week to get to and from work, do errands and child care. Now I’m up to 70+ a week.
For your country what did diesel cost last year?
All of the gas around here is under $4…
It’s under $4 here, it’s 3.97…

He’s never filled his own gas tank. He has no idea what the fuck we are talking about.
You try filling up a helicopter to weekend at your ancestral home in Valley Forge, JFC !
You povvos have no idea.
FFS, you can’t keep polo horses in Manhatten, the noise and pollution stresses them.
He doesnt know what the second pedal is for.
Neither did his parents, apparently
Americans have had cheap fuel since forever
They also seem to like stupid vehicles that are incredibly inefficient
I love my little electric car. I have solar at home and have never once charged at a station and paid for it
you don’t have to pay at a charge station? Did I miss something?
I’ve never had to use a charge station
I charge for free with my solar system
They implied they charge off their solar panels at home. However, there are some free charging stations out there. They’re usually slower rates and at places like libraries, but they exist.
It’s a peanut, Michael! How much could it cost?

Lots of “peanuts” were burned up to fly a Boeing 747 or a chopper to a fucking golf course.
Just remember that the current UK equivalent is $8.30 for Diesel and $7.88 for gas/petrol
I’m sure you can do better
Maybe you should spend a trillion dollars a year on a military whose only purpose is to lower that number a few dollars per gallon
I just gassed up for the lowest I’ve seen in a while for about 1.8 a liter!
Speaking of peanuts, I really wish this fuck would choke on one.
We could try a pretzel. It almost worked on Bush the 2nd.
No chance. He’s used to having little things in his mouth.
I learned that from the TRUMP-EPSTEIN FILES ™
She’s holding steady captain! $6.20!

640 off the port bow!
Let them eat cake…
A station in Iowa had gas for $1.85…but I was down to less than $2/gallon
… isn’t $1.85 under $2.00? I swear 1 came before 2 when I learned.
Welcome to the trump era, where up is down and black is white.
AndBut where we can’t piece together the simplest sentences.
Luckily I can fill up my Xiaomi YU7 for $0.12 KwH. So total would be $11 if it was totally drained, which it never is.
