Studying in a religious university, I had to take religion classes. In one there was a discussion about heaven and hell in several religions. There was this atheist girl who was really pissed when the Christian girl said she would not go to heaven.

Like, the concept of heaven doesn’t exist for you, why the fuck you’re so worked up because she said you’re going to hell?

Yup. “You’re not getting into heaven [therefore there’s no reason for me to respect you or waste any energy on you].”

While I agree with you, I also think the words have different meaning. Hell doesn’t exist to most Jewish people as far as I remember, it’s only those who are saved by God, and those who are left behind. So there would be a difference between, “all Christians go to hell” and all Christians are left on earth, which in that scenario one would have to think earth is already hell for them to be forced into it.

So when a Christian or equivalent in the west has said go to hell over the years it has developed into wishing them a bad time, rather than just “oh well then I guess you might not get into heaven”

Then theirs South Park, and the Jehovah’s Witnesses were right I believe, lol
