The remaining small- and medium-sized farms are going to go under, and get bought up by the big Ag firms. We are speeding straight towards a monopoly on farming in this country.
The consequences of an Ag monopoly will be devastating for the environment, devastating for the economy, and devastating for anyone who wants to eat healthy food.
Remember those feelings around election time. More importantly remind them.
We’re all frustrated by devastation to the economy, the environment, our reputation and influence in the world. Some of us are getting really anxious about our longer term position in the sciences and technology, our culture, our law and justice, of what’s going to remain after the looters are gone, whether they somehow become a “political dynasty”.
But we didn’t vote for this and it’s getting much tougher to have sympathy for those who did this to all of us

Were these subsidies going to small farmers though? Usually these things end up benefiting the giants.
Yea the subsidies disproportionately benefit the large corporate farms.
But they are also one of the last things keeping the small farmers solvent.
