    I love this. I need moar!

    Sidenote: would a wax applied to the wooden block have prevented this? It looks like the block was sticking at the top of the cycle.

      From my armchair it looks like he needed to lengthen the barrel to not allow it to go out of alignment at the top.

        Indeed, but no downside to a slippery bearing surface.

        Unfortunately a problem in all our combustion engines, the piston skirt starts wearing the cylinder walls after enough cycles. Change your oil more often than recommended.
