There’s nothing good coming from this kind of violence in the current political context, even if it could be morally justified, it is strategically stupid and only serves to further empower Trumpism.
When did Charlie Kirk become a moderate? I think you have him confused with someone else.

In response, Mr Mulford instructed fellow leaders of the biker gang not to reply but included the BBC when he clicked “reply all” - inadvertently disclosing email addresses and names of fellow Infidels MC members, some of whom were working in Gaza.
I appreciate that the BBC included this detail because it is hilarious. I’m sure Mr. Mulford has his fellow gang members pissed off at him for being such an idiot now.

I would be interested in hearing from the woman whose name is redacted about what exactly went on between her and these men.
ultranaut@lemmy.worldto news@lemmings.world•JPMorgan processed $1 billion for Jeffrey Epstein, kept him as client despite sex trafficking indictment: reportEnglish15·4 days agoThis definitely wasn’t business as usual. Epstein was flagged repeatedly for engaging in cash withdrawal patterns that suggested illegal activities and bank execs chose to continue allowing those withdrawals. Additionally, if your banker is also consulting you on business decision about the bank, you are not just a regular bank customer. It is clear from the article that JP Morgan executives knew Epstein and actively facilitated his criminal enterprise.
ultranaut@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•thick skinned employees, how can you be so thick skinned?12·4 days agoIf I am being paid to do a job all I really care about while I’m working is doing the job. I might judge people for their failings and look down on them for being shitty, but I really don’t care because I’m just there to do the job I’m being paid to do. I might feel bad if people are talking shit and spreading rumors about me or whatever, but I don’t give a shit because I’m at work to work. If people are slacking off and not working when they should be, that is an issue for management to deal with. If people are spreading rumors and creating disruptions with gossip and drama, that is an issue for management to deal with. I care about doing the job I am paid to do, anything else going on at work is not my problem. I don’t think I’m actually that thick skinned or anything really, I’m just maintaining basic professionalism in what is supposed to be a professional environment.
To me it sounds like you have shitty management and shitty coworkers. You can try to be a catalyst for change in a more positive direction if you want but it might be better for you to find a more professional workplace. Also, I do think if dumb drama and gossip at work bothers you this much finding a job with fewer coworkers or a more independent role would probably be a better fit for you.

In the US the political parties are private entities distinct and separate from the government, it would be weird if they tried to argue otherwise in court. Having the parties as private entities seems a lot less risky and problematic so I am really curious what bothers you about it and how you imagine a system where they were not private could work.

Perhaps gathering allies would be a helpful first step. Since the alphas keep things running and management obviously values them you should tread carefully.l though. If you can get viewed by management as someone who gets things done and knows what’s up they might be more open to changes you suggest, especially if you have a bunch of unhappy coworkers supporting those changes.

ultranaut@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Tech CEOs keep praising TrumpEnglish41·5 days agoThat is a great point, we know for sure that Gates was friends with Epstein. I recall it even being in the media that one of the reasons his wife divorced him is because she found out about their relationship. It seems very plausible that Trump is blackmailing Gates, and others at that table. I know at least Brin has a reputation and rumors around him. Altman also had that accusation from his sister a few years ago, but it was never substantiated to my knowledge and I believe it turned out she has a life long severe mental illness that makes her delusional. Regardless, these are rich and powerful guys who no doubt have lots of things to hide and Trump is certainly not above coercion, I’d say he even enjoys it.
ultranaut@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Tech CEOs keep praising TrumpEnglish154·5 days agoIt’s funny to see Bill Gates has become a Trump supporter after he spent the past decades pretending to care about a bunch of causes, like vaccination programs in Africa, that Trump has taken a huge dump all over. Or not really funny so much as horrific and disgusting. I always suspected he was faking it to rehab his image.

Its bizarre to hear it but for the people caught up in the Republican media ecosystem there’s still this whole other Trump. Despite all the evidence they cling to this image of him as some kind of powerful and macho leader.

Not surprised, Jerry Seinfeld is a Jewish supremacist who says a lot of dumb shit. Other not so fun fact, he groomed a teenager at the height of his fame and everyone looked the other way because when you’re a star, they let you do it.
