The article mentions how concrete is more durable, less expensive compared to asphalt. WHAT ABOUT RAIL?! how do these materials compare to laying train tracks to replace highways/roads?

got a lil hydraulic rower over Christmas and hoooo boy that thing is incredibly fun. who woulda thought it’d encourage me to get a bicycle? it’s been an exciting year exploring my city and making friends 😎🥳

i never understood why when the people at these companies that commit crimes never see an hour inside a prison? wage theft is the same story. these are crimes. they need to be brought before a court and judge to determine consequences. paying some fine isn’t an appropriate consequence for the damage they’ve done with this one action.

some men think being masculine comes from loud pipes, but i’m of the opinion that real masculinity is being able to hear 😎

reminds me of the novella A Short Stay in Hell by Steven Peck.
Monster House from 2006. The main characters try recruiting this guy lol. 🙂
they’re Inklings and/or Octolings from Splatoon :)
Stalin died alone in a pile of his own piss. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The 1973/1974 series The World At War narrated by Laurence Olivier mentions this memorial. Such an example of the atrocities humans are capable of. Horrifying.

i am a big fan of these genres during the Halloween season \o/
this past Halloween, I listened to a Vincent Price short story collection titled The Price of Fear that is absolutely delightful :)

I’ve baked my homemade fries with oil in the oven at this temp. it doesn’t make sense to me to add oil after they’ve baked? anyone have an explanation for my dumb brain?

I have been slogging through The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell and while it’s extremely interesting it is so dense. I am undecided between a Neal Stephenson or Philip K Dick or Kurt Vonnegut novel next ¯_(ツ)_/¯

we must also demand enough free time to enjoy the fruits of our labor.
I read the Peter North/Paul Reitter translation last year and the forward goes into some details of how they translated it. It was my first read and it so thoroughly blew me away that I quickly consumed Vol2 and 3 of the Samuel Moore/Edward Aveling translations. North/Reitter are working on Vol2/3 with no ETA. Hope this helps!

i have the Seemee 300 and it’s awesome because of the bottom light that encircles your back tire. the plastic saddle mount is terrible (mine slipped off over a bump and I lost the light!) but they have a strap and for extra cost ($12USD) an aluminum saddle mount which is ideal. Great recommendations in this article!

I’d like to piggyback off this and say that this would be a prime organization to trial 24/32hr work weeks as full-time. The folks who want or need 40-60hr weeks would receive appropriate compensation while those that want free time will obviously have more.
right arm goals: pixelated Charizard and Kirby and a minimalist solar system in color (blue Earth, Red Mars, etc).
