Well, I would prefer not to see, but I get what you’re saying.
Well, I would prefer not to see, but I get what you’re saying.
How you got that from my comment is beyond understanding. Did you read what I wrote? I was only commenting that based on the events as described in the article it is a little disappointing to read the gleefully and happy comments that an implied innocent person was killed by a grieving father.
As others have pointed out, the police in the US cannot be trusted. I do not trust the police in the US. I believe the militarisation of the police and the impunity with which they operate are a danger to the society. If anything I believe the police should be held to higher standards than the general population, not lower as I believe is the case. It’s a fucked up institution and stuff must change.
But none of that justifies randomly killing someone. If that makes you think I’m on the side of the police then 🤷♂️
[Edit] I forgot to add that I do not blame the father exactly either. I cannot imagine what that must be like. I hope he will be judged fairly.
Correct. I used to use the same key combo to switch virtual desktops on my Ubuntu install way back when and when on Windows my muscle memory would result in screen rotating all the time
Title definitely feels like a missed opportunity
According to the article the son was in a stolen vehicle, and ran away with a gun in his hand before being shot and killed.
The father after seeing the body cam video went out and killed a deputy who was directing traffic.
The article doesn’t say whether the deputy was involved in the shooting, but it’s implied he wasn’t.
The article, but frankly also the responses here, leave me with a lot of ethical questions. How is this not just incredibly tragic for everyone involved? How can you judge the police’s handling of the situation that resulted in the killing of the son as absolutely unjustified based on what was in the article, and how can you be happy that a seemingly innocent person was killed by the father? I’m as sceptical about the police as the next person, ACAB and all, but it’s a bit disappointing to see some of the reactions here, based on the information in the article. Perhaps I missed something and this was a George Floyd type situation? And it was the deputy who killed the son who was killed?
I understand the sentiment, but I had the pleasure of working with a great PM on a high profile project in my company and it was really good. The more moving parts and stakeholders there are, the more you’re going to need someone to manage the stream of information, set expectations, keep the focus on the end goal. It was very good and I learned a lot from them.
Thanks. I appreciate the LLM disclaimer, and I understand better now.
I saw wireguard tools, isn’t that a kernel module?
Although this looks interesting, I have trouble understanding the pro’s and cons vs something like flatpak or containers.
Missing babes in Toyland here
I haven’t had it in a while, but I was obsessed with Lekker Bekkie Mango Chutney, from Surinam. Not exactly chilli sauce, as its more chunky, but so good. Very tasty, very spicy. I’ve been thinking about this for the past days, gonna get it tomorrow 😀
Lately we’ve been mostly making our own chili. We use chili de arbol seco. Nice because we can make it spicy to taste. I boil some water, put a couple tomatoes to take the skin off, add about 15 chili’s. Then transfer the chili’s and tomatoes to a food processor. Add a splash water, a small piece of onion, and a bit of salt, and process. Actually I put the onion after processing the tomatoes and chillies so the onion can be bit chunky. Its a simple recipe, but very good. Can add a clove of garlic optionally.
Last store bought we got were cholula and one from la morena, they’re not too bad, but I like it a bit spicier.
I think in NL its 1 year 100%, then 1 year 70%, after that I think the government takes over
In the Netherlands its like 2 years
It doesn’t though? I mean it could be sarcastic, but that’s not a given.
That reads like Dutch to me. Perfect! I’ll be fine.
Thanks 🙂 I don’t intend to use one of those canon sized ones, I was thinking a mini like you said. Just a little squirt should do the trick 😇
Working on that. Still would prefer cats to skip my garden though!
We’ve a lot of cats coming through the garden. I wouldn’t mind if not for my dog, who does and goes insane when she spots a cat. So I’ve been thinking about getting a super soaker to chase them away. I think that’s pretty harmless, and perhaps they learn to skip our garden after a while… What do you lot think?
I’m on bazzite which I believe is like a sibling or derivative of bluefin. All based on atomic fedora. Atomic means the base system is immutable, which should help with stability. As mentioned elsewhere, for bleeding edge you use flatpak or distrobox. Its been a pleasure to use, I’m very happy.
