Linux@lemmy.ml•Recommendations for a small used laptopEnglish
2·3 months agoI just bought one used (Gen1) for 450 EUR, I’d consider that cheap for this kind of hardware.
Alternatively look for Thinkpad X13 (Ryzen), slightly bigger, great hardware and value.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Recommendations for a small used laptopEnglish
141·3 months agoThinkpad X1 Nano. Great specs, approx. 920 grams, super lightweight. Decent CPU and RAM (I did some light video editing on mine and it’s great), and a 2k screen (13 inch).
I’m using Debian on mine, works out of the box (like all Thinkpads, in my experience).

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Valve launches the Steam Next Fest right on Windows 10 EOL because they hate me, specifically (also, distro-picking).English
2·4 months agoI don’t have the newest GPU, but a rather new AMD one and I can play anything without problems. Love Debian for gaming, actually, no other distro has worked quite as well for that (for me) until now.

2·6 months agoTo be fair, they’re getting better again, for example I was pleasantly surprised that the T14 G5 had two RAM banks, nothing soldered, which was de facto default in most Lenovo laptops for the last years.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•What do you think about the new menu of Firefox Android?English
2·6 months agoOkay, I see what you mean… Firefox has a smaller menu, fitting neatly on one page, whereas Waterfox has a longer menu which needs scrolling. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for pointing this out.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•What do you think about the new menu of Firefox Android?English
2·6 months agoI’m using Waterfox, maybe that’s the problem… But when I open the menu, it’s only half open and I have to scroll down every time. Will try with Firefox too and see if it happens there too.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•What do you think about the new menu of Firefox Android?English
2·6 months agoNo, it does work, but I always have to scroll down to reach it, because the new menu does not show all the buttons at once, when opened. This is really annoying.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•What do you think about the new menu of Firefox Android?English
31·6 months agoI hate it and changed it back almost immediately. The way I use Firefox, I always select “quit” to close it, which deletes all temporary files and cookies and this is just not doable with the new menu, which wastes precious screen space.
