  • So first off I wanna say thank you for running this community. It’s a challenge to get this sort of thing off the ground since members need to have this open mindset to enjoy the place since they’ll assuredly run into stuff they’d never would have put in their headphones otherwise. I’m rooting for Maple Music to endure! bee fingerguns cool emoji

Hailing from Beehaw I’m naturally in favour of an active approach towards a moderation that fosters respect and inclusion. Any form of shaming on the basis of musical taste is a big no no for me as well. I don’t know if I deserve to voice my opinion on the downvote button has Beehaw users don’t actually have one. bee blep emoji

  • Hello! I’m Québécois and as such happily defy all Canadian obligations. The USA gave the elections to the liberals by threatening Canada’s sovereignty. This is because the Conservatives favour the prairies, where there is a strong pro USA sentiment. Alberta’s PM Danielle Smith reminded everybody of that by conniving at Mar-a-Lago while the other provinces were trying hard to show a united front. In the meanwhile Conservative Leader Poilievre took forever to address the issue since he knew part of his base actually wants to be ’murican.

So by now Carney is PM for sure, but it’s not been called yet if it’ll be a minority or majority. I’m not excited about having a paragon of neoliberalism as federal leader (still better than Poilievre *sigh*) so I’m hoping for a minority.

  • Celiac disease is an illness caused by an immune reaction to eating gluten. Gluten is a protein found in foods containing wheat, barley or rye.

If you have celiac disease, eating gluten triggers an immune response to the gluten protein in your small intestine. Over time, this reaction damages your small intestine’s lining and prevents it from absorbing nutrients, a condition called malabsorption.

The intestinal damage often causes symptoms such as diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss, bloating or anemia. It also can lead to serious complications if it is not managed or treated. In children, malabsorption can affect growth and development in addition to gastrointestinal symptoms.

There’s no definite cure for celiac disease. But for most people, following a strict gluten-free diet can help manage symptoms and help the intestines heal.

Gluten is in wheat, so it is in flour and in pasta. Fortunately there are other cereals that are gluten free and an increasing amount of products that are gluten free. Still is a challenge for the home cook!
