Je gardais mon dual boot pour deux raisons: Starcraft2, et un soft de CNC: MakeraCAM, dispo seulement sous windows.

Avec un très grand écran, Starcraft, vieux jeu, merde. Impossible de virer la barre windows pendant qu’on joue. J’avais essayé plusieurs fois avec Wine mais ça merdait tout le temps malgré plein de commentaires de linuxiens disant que non non y aucun soucis, c’est même plus rapide, etc…

Là j’ai découvert que Steam linux donne un couche de compatibilité qui résout tout les problèmes super facilement. Je peux maintenant jouer sous linux dans le mode graphique qui emmerde windows. Tous les jeux blizzard y sont également. Et il se trouve que la couche de compatibilité, ben elle est utilisable aussi pour des softs qui ne sont pas des jeux, dont mon outil de CNC!

Em tant que dev je me dois de garder un windows au cas où j’ai à debugger un jour un truc cross-platform, mais je ne boote plus jamais sous windows. Ça fait plusieurs mois que je n’ai pas eu à le faire.
