Part of the sign up process I went through was to copy a line from something Marx wrote (can’t remember now I’m a bad communist) to be approved for an account.

Maybe it wasn’t like that in the past but it was made clear in the sign up processs that the admins are ML communists and run their instance with those beliefs informing their moderation decisions.

I’m not trans but the texture of your hair looks like mine. I struggle with it being unruly and frizzy, so up until recently I had been keeping it short or in a bun or something.

What I found worked for me was to try to only detangle my hair in the shower with a wide-toothed comb while it is wet. I use conditioner to help me detangle it.

I let my hair air dry now instead of blow drying it. Apparently my hair dryer came with an attachment called a “diffuser” that I should have been using. I lost it.

I wash my hair once about every 3 days with shampoo. On non-wash days I keep it in a shower cap when I take a shower so I don’t have to blow dry it and avoid the frizz. So, my hair is only ever wet once every 3 days or so.

If my hair looks greasy on non-wash days I use dry shampoo on my roots.

I keep my hair braided when I go to sleep so it doesn’t tangle and I keep the brushing I need to while dry at an absolute minimum. I still brush it when dry if I have to. Those days I usually put my hair up in a pony, or half up half down to manage the frizz.

This help me cut down on the frizz and helped me stop fighting the natural texture of my hair. My hair is longer than yours and I have ended up spending a lot of time taking care of it. Think of chopping it off again honestly.

Anyway I typed more than I meant but I hope that was helpful. I can’t speak to advice about finding an aesthetic, can’t say I really have one myself. Maybe this is all off topic…

Yeah but it seems they are being rented by people in plain clothes, as apparently several companies are already trying to refuse.

Seems to me (non-lawyer) like they can put out a form like “Are you renting this vehicle on behalf of a federal agency, or to accomplish work for a federal agency Y/N” and if the ICE agents lie on the form, the rental company can now sue the government for fraud. I imagine the individual ICE agent would also be in breach of contract or something.

I know someone who works for a federal agency (DOI, not DOJ/DOD) and they rent cars on behalf of the government frequently when they need to travel to accomplish their work (or they used to, in the before times). But they’re like, doing normal, non-reprehensible things with the car… not filling it up with detainees.

Childless person here. My partner and I had no ability to count on our families for childcare, or more basic things. Our choice to not have children was more about our (tenuous) mental health and lack of emotional support from family, but economics played a part too.

You are lucky to have support from someone who has good health and the ability to watch your kids (they are retired? None of my family can afford that)

Children aren’t some sort of luxury. Our poverty line should allow for people to afford children.

I don’t agree with all of this guy’s numbers but you absolutely should include the cost of children in the poverty line.
