The PSP memory (memory stick pro duo) wasn’t as expensive as vita’s because they were the same as the camera’s and some other devices

My wife always gets excited when a book she loves is being adapted (right now Verity and project hail Mary) but I learned from many disappointments to not get excited. I still watch most of them but I don’t expect too much
Many years ago I made a library for Arduino to control an 8x8 LED matrix to display running text. It was not very clean but I like it enough to upload it to the forums (I couldn’t find anything similar). One week later it was complely different to what I uploaded and it was super efficient and a bunch of people added new functions and availability but my name still appeared as a main contributor. Of course I put it on my CV and showed it to my professors!

News@lemmy.world•Is Spotify losing the streaming wars as it faces boycotts, lawsuits and assorted controversies?
7·14 days agoAfter 8 years my wife finally told me that she will leave her friend’s “family” account because she doesn’t want to support Spotify. I’ve been using YouTube music since it launched (as Google Play music) but I’m not sure that is any better (ethically)

Tech@programming.dev•Flights disrupted after Airbus discovers intense sun radiation could impact flight control data
4·14 days agoIn my previous work we had a bunch of devices that failed at the final installation. All of them passed that test at the end of line at the plant without any issues but they simply refused to boot at the customer site. When we read the ROM contents some data was corrupted We had a very extensive investigation and finally they realized that all the ones that failed had been flown instead of using ground shipping and there had been some solar activity so the final conclusion was bit shift due to solar storm and since fixing was to difficult and expensive it was just decided to stop shipping this particular device by air (it used a very cheap flash memory)

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•Why I Dumped YouTube (and Why You Might Want to Too – No More Crap)
6·16 days agoI like it a lot. A lot of the YouTubers I watch are in there and I found some other channels I enjoy and their original series jetlag is great.
If you have hoopla with your library you can check if they have binge passes for nebula to check the channels and the app (I only use it on my android phone with mostly no issues). I can also send you a guest pass for a free week if you’d like, just DM me your email

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft AI CEO Puzzled by People Being "Unimpressed" by AIEnglish
81·17 days agoMy cousin just finished his MBA from a big college, he is so proud that he used AI for most of his assignments, he used 3 out 4 subscriptions to make it “more human” and “not mistakes” and so they couldn’t detect it easily
He said that everybody in his courses was using AI and that most group discussions were about which AI is better, so it makes sense that those managers are so excited about AI, because it was able to do their “meaningless” jobs so they think it can do anyone’s job, but he doesn’t see the irony that he would be the first to be replaced
No. I feel like reddit/lemmy is a good progression for forums, and I absolutely hate discord when used for technical stuff
I still use some forums like xda-developers and I don’t enjoy it as much a I did 10-15 years ago
My personal experience is that they looked scratched but they actually worked most of the time
I am/was like that but I feel like I am not able to create those kinds of memories anymore. I can recall what song was on the radio when I went with my parents to some restaurant 20 years ago and what we ordered and how was the weather but for things from around 5 years ago I don’t recall a lot of stuff that precisely

5·25 days agoThat’s great news and more places should follow it but I find it funny that students vote for something that will be in effect until after most of them will be gone from the University (assuming 4-5 year degrees)
