I accept the concerns about age verification, I personally share them myself. But please do not say that Durov is right.

Just some excerpts from his message (i leave out number one, which is about the age verification)

If you as a private person provide any resources to anyone doing this, you go to jail. Why do all the tech oligarchs like Durov don’t go to jail? Telegram is not end-to-end-encrypted by default and all the messages are plain-text readable for Telegram, they have all the means to prevent this, but they decide they won’t. This makes them, and Pavel Durov personally, complicit in these crimes.

Criminalizing algorithm amplification: Amplifying “harmful” content via algorithms becomes a crime.

In contrast to the corporate propaganda which the platforms promote now. Currently the tech oligarchs promote what people see on those platforms.

4. “Hate and polarization footprint” tracking: Platforms must monitor and report how they “fuel division.”

⚠️ Danger: Vague definitions of “hate” could label criticism of the government as divisive, leading to shutdowns or fines. This can be a tool for suppressing opposition.

Again: Currently Pavel Durov, Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pichai define what is hate, how is this any better than the government doing it, which is elected in most of Europe, in contrast to the Oligarchs which have no legitimacy.

I am in no way saying that government propaganda is good, but Durov is plain dishonest in his message. He has like one debatable point, the rest is oligarch and corporate propaganda.

Warum sind die Jugendlichen dahin, war der Rest vom Zug vielleicht voll? Haben die jemandem den Platz weggenommen der ihn nötiger bräuchte und hätten sie sich weggesetzt wenn das Zugpersonal - deren Aufgabe das ist - sie dazu aufgefordert hätte?

Ich glaube Werte und Normen einfordern ist wichtig, nur haben das in dem Fall wahrscheinlich eher die Mitfahrenden getan, und nicht Palmer.

Das ist ja alles aus Palmers Sicht und im Nachhinein verfasst und begründet. Angesichts von Palmers Persönlichkeit, kann ich mir gut vorstellen das Palmer sich in der Situation gerne wichtig machen und die Jugendlichen ein bisschen einschüchtern wollte. Das ist dann nach hinten los gegangen und er stilisiert sich jetzt als das Opfer.

Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen das die halbe Erste Klasse einer Bahn sich mit pöbelnden Jugendlichen gegen einen armen rechtschaffenen Palmer solidarisiert.

Edit: Anzeichen dafür das ich hier eventuell richtig liege, ist das Palmer jetzt seine Reichweite dafür nutzt, seine Version der Geschehnisse zu verbreiten. Mit entsprechenden Narrativ. Als Tübinger würde ich mich ja jetzt auch fragen ob mein Bürgermeister nix besseres zu tun hat als in einer Bahn - in der er kein Hausrecht hat - die Fahrscheine zu kontrollieren.

Das ist auch ein bisschen dämlich, weil Profi Diebe die sich teilweise einfach dreist den ganzen Wagen mit teurer Ware voll machen und abhauen, juckt das Hausverbot nicht und so vergrault man nur zahlende Kundschaft.

SteamOS ist aktuell halt nicht dafür gedacht auf nicht-Steam Geräten installiert zu werden. Es geht halt schon aber ist naja. Ich würde Bazzite empfehlen. Das ist auch Gaming focused und gut supported.
