1·10 months agoSure. But company policy and failure to regulate employees are different things. They are both bad but they are not the same.

Technology@beehaw.org•Crunchyroll accidentally confirmed it uses ChatGPT for subtitles
101·1 year agoAlthough it seems likely that Crunchyroll uses an LLM for translation in some way, I wouldn’t call that “confirmed” since that might be the result of an individual translator using it.

Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Org-roam is not for me
1·1 year agoIf there was an Emacs group on this website I would certainly post there instead. In any case, Emacs is a well-known FOSS project, and Org-Roam is very popular among Emacs user.

9·2 years agoThat was a a fairly short article reporting on another article. The title gives the impression that the assertion was made with certainty when the actual quote makes it clear that this was meant as speculation, a calculated guess made on a conversation that was not meant to be public. I truly have no inclination to defend corporate leadership, but perhaps it would be more productive to direct our sentiments towards the article that is being quoted instead.

Technology@beehaw.org•A terminal window periodically flashes on my screen every few minutes. It goes away in one second. I have no idea what it is, nor how to stop it.
9·2 years agoGuys, thank you so much for all the great ideas. Given that everyone made a big effort to help me, I’m a bit embarrassed to report that it looks like it went away? I tried rebooting before and that didn’t help. I rebooted a second time for an unrelated reason and that “fixed” it. I have no idea why. I feel like an idiot now. I will report if it comes back, but, for now, I think that was solved.
Thanks!

4·2 years agoSorry, I forgot top add a negative. It should read as “I ran a Windows Defender scan and nothing showed up.”.

I am not really versed in federation. I just use beehaw and I treat it like a standalone website.
Even though I am writing about Emacs, I am not really that technical. I didn’t even know these groups existed since they’re not listed here. I just kinda use the website :/
