Oh, that’s a good question. Maybe it’s people who like his Nazi policies but don’t like the dementia and tariffs?

A significant minority of Germans liked Hitler even after 1945. Plenty of people will just never stop supporting Trump.

politics @lemmy.world•Obama encourages Democrats to focus on winning back House, not "tactical differences"
191·12 小时前I never said anything about Trump. Biden did something, which is rare for his type, but it’s certainly not enough, and as long as it’s not enough people will keep flocking to the right because the right actually does things (bad things, to be clear, but that’s irrelevant).

politics @lemmy.world•Obama encourages Democrats to focus on winning back House, not "tactical differences"
121·14 小时前I mean, he was president between Bush and Trump at the head of a Senate near-supermajority (at one point a supermajority). A lot of shit happening today could’ve been avoided if Obama had been less of an establishment ghoul; that is how missed opportunities work.

politics @lemmy.world•Obama encourages Democrats to focus on winning back House, not "tactical differences"
238·14 小时前It’s good that Obama is stepping back into the spotlight.
It is, in fact, very bad. As is obvious from his long list of broken promises, Obama is part of the problem, and any advice he gives—indeed, the advice he’s now giving—won’t address what really needs to be done.

102·14 小时前Why should we be concerned about neoliberal ghoul#3011’s “advice?” The Nazis keep winning because they, unlike neoliberal ghouls, actually get shit done.

493·14 小时前Again with the messaging. The problem isn’t “messaging” it’s that you and your ilk insist on leaving the working class out to dry you capitalist ghoul.

13·3 天前I’m not sure which is more delusional, thinking that this would actually work or thinking that anyone affiliated with the United States (or the West in general) is ever going to be prosecuted by the ICC.

Can we get a list of those multiple times? Also to be clear a strong majority of the US population wants universal healthcare as of 2024.

Buy European@feddit.uk•How Trump's outreach to Europe's far-right aims to split EU
79·4 天前I’m sorry but blaming this on Russia is more of a cope than anything else. Putin has done a lot to support the European far right, but he’s far from the root cause of any of this.
Okay I’m not sure where you got this from, but you’re wrong on both counts. Socialists absolutely want to do more than just implement progressive policies (you’re thinking of social democrats); the definition of a socialist is someone who believes the working class should seize the means of production. Some socialists believe that can be done through capitalist democratic systems (we call those democratic socialists), but still the goal is a lot more broad than just implementing progressive policies; on the other hand you have more militant or even revolutionary socialists, who usually advocate direct action (sometimes but not always including violence). Meanwhile communists are a subcategory of socialists who believe in the creation of a moneyless, classless, stateless utopian society as described by Karl Marx.

Europe@feddit.org•Von der Leyen opens up to economic migrants: "Let's bring skills to Europe"
1·5 天前Again, that is already present in plenty of (unsure if most) developing countries, and the ones where it isn’t aren’t common sources of brain drain. There’s a reason the West tends to import Indians and Iranians rather than, say, Congolese; the majority of educated people from any country will stay there, either because they don’t want to leave or because they can’t find an opportunity to do so. This is simply not the bottleneck holding back the Global South; education is one of the few things a developing country can do more of with minimal effort.

145·5 天前Not a justification for that either. “Seizing” ships is another word for piracy.
If they could do that they wouldn’t try to get people to avoid unionizing. They still need people to work for them, regulations or no regulations.

Would sure help your case if there weren’t so fucking many Hitlers rolling around.
