Also, I couldn’t even imagine how they’d introduce Worf with the new version of Klingons. All I know is everyone would hate it immediately.

I’m giving them a chance. I’m the only one in my friend group who will actually watch them. I made it through Picard. Like many others I enjoyed season 3, but barely made it through the rest. I somehow made it through Discovery. It had it’s moments, but so much of it was just terrible. I could barely get through it. It was a long and slow process. Now I’m on Strange New Worlds. I think I’m halfway through what’s out now. I’m enjoying it more than the other 2, but it’s still missing a lot of what I love about the older Star Trek shows. Still I’m the kind of person who wants to give things a chance even if the general consensus is that it’s terrible.

I do remember some decent moments in early TNG, but there’s a lot of racism and prejudicial bullshit. Also a lot of cheesiness. In general, I skip way more episodes of TNG when rewatching than I do with DS9 or Voyager, but I still think it’s all essential to watch at least once if you’re invested in the lore of the Star Trek universe. I’d still take all the bullshit and cheesiness a thousand times over in place of the current generation of Trek shows.
Oh yea, I remember that show. I couldn’t really get into it, but I heard a lot of good things from other people while it was airing.
I thought you might have been talking about TNG. I’ve heard people recommending skipping the first 2 and half or 3 seasons of TNG to newcomers. I wouldn’t recommend that just because you’d miss out on a lot of character development and plot development. It’s pretty bad though. I always recommend DS9 to newcomers instead.
4 seasons is more than half of the show lol. It’s not really worth it at that point.
No unfortunately, it was a very bright game. The main thing I remember about it was the world map. The map was colorful and had images for the ecosystems or locations. Everytime I think about this game I spend a couple hours searching RPG world maps, but I’ve never found it lol.
I don’t think so based on what I found online. The main thing I remember about it was the world map. The map was colorful and had images for the ecosystems or locations. It had summons and I could be wrong, but maybe only the summons battled enemies. I could be way off on that last part though.
Unfortunately no, it was a much brighter game. The main thing I remember about it was the world map. The map was colorful and had images for the ecosystems or locations. That is a good game though.
That’s a good idea. I found one video that covers over 420 JRPGs on PS1. I wish they did a list of world maps because that’s the best way I’d recognize it.
Unfortunately no, it was definitely turn based and not an ARPG. The graphics weren’t very different though.
This is a weird one. I’ve been looking for a game for years and I’ve had no luck. My uncle took me on one of his drug deals, as he did very often and I played someone’s ps1 or ps2 while they got high. All I know about this RPG/JRPG I played is there were summons and I can vividly remember the 2d world map. There was a mine/tunnel area and some kind of grand library or mansion area. I’ve been looking for this game for 20 years now with no luck. If I see the world map I’ll recognize it instantly. So many of the RPGs of that time had sprawling world maps, but this was very confined. One screen with very obvious images for each area. I would be eternally grateful if anyone could help me find this game.
Edit: The mine/tunnel area was in the middle/bottom of the world map and the grand library or mansion area was towards the top right if I remember correctly.

News@lemmy.world•This holiday season isn't very merry for consumers, an AP-NORC poll finds
7·12 days agoMore than half the people who send me gifts have told me they can’t afford to do anything for Christmas this year. I let them know that I understand and I wouldn’t be sending much this year either. I’ve had to cut my Christmas budget in half compared to previous years. Everyone I know is struggling right now. Trump’s economy has fucked us all.

News@lemmy.world•Is $140,000 the New Poverty Line for Americans?
3·16 days agoExactly, I make a fraction of what you make and I could never afford to buy a house anywhere. Back when I first started renting 16 years ago, my friend and I rented a 2 bedroom place for $450 a month and now a studio is 4 times that in rural states.
The owner of the place I currently rent has surprised us with a Christmas notice that she’s selling the place and we have to leave by April. We can’t afford anywhere near here so we’ll have to move very far north and our commutes will at least double. Maybe triple. Locals are getting forced out of places they’ve lived their whole lives. This shit is fucked up. People are too damn greedy and selfish.

News@lemmy.world•Is $140,000 the New Poverty Line for Americans?
71·17 days agoSame and I live in what would be considered a rural state. We don’t have any big cities and a studio apartment would cost me about $1500 a month about 50 miles outside our biggest city and $1800+ within 50 miles of Portland Maine which is our biggest city. This shit is out of control. Our wages are more in line with a rural state, but our rent prices are near what you’d expect in a bigger city.

He was instrumental in the creation of “The Office” which is the most watched show in our household, but if he’s a transphobic POS then he deserves no respect.
