So in Qatar, we need Max to win the race, Oscar to come second, Lando to come 9th, and then in the sprint, Oscar to win, Max in 8th and Lando behind Max. There’s other ways to do it as well of course but that sets up a three way tie going into Abu Dhabi.
Calling / reaching out for help is the obvious one, but sadly being able to get their last words out to family is also a consideration.
It probably could if everyone did it the same way. But I suspect that isn’t what’s happening, so while our brains pattern recognition the message reasonably easily regardless of the substitution, doing that at scale with regex would be a lot more difficult.
The comment about convenience trumping almost everything else reminded me of this old post (wasn’t originally on The Urban Dictionary but they have it now under the definition of Linux).

When you board the plane, you are given a seat, four bolts, a wrench and a copy of the seat-HOWTO.html. Once settled, the fully adjustable seat is very comfortable, the plane leaves and arrives on time without a single problem, the in-flight meal is wonderful. You try to tell customers of the other airlines about the great trip, but all they can say is, “You had to do what with the seat?”
Now we just need Ferrari to do a partnership with Nintendo and we can literally have Mario vs Sonic on the F1 track.
It’s not mandatory but when you’ve got points on the line they probably didn’t want to be seen to be making decisions that could cost midfield teams a chance at points, even if that meant an extra lap or two behind the safety car.
Agree on the GDPA role, but they did explicitly ask him about it during the interview so figured it was at least worth mentioning.
Best theory I have is all the teams are expecting some sort of sanction over the incident and they all want to be able to be arms length and say “that was the FIA’s decision” and not have sound bites where they were suggesting that something should happen.
All the drivers clearly have been advised by their teams to not comment on the Max situation. Oscar basically said “didn’t have context on what happened, only saw they collided, can’t comment”, Lando ignored the question entirely and just started talking about his own race, George was pretty non committal despite being involved in the incident and also flat out refused to comment in his role as a GPDA director (says he was “too close to comment”).
Clearly they don’t want any sound bites out there about it.
Oh absolutely, I’m not suggesting it’s a product worth using in this day and age when you probably have good quality music available locally. It was a potentially useful tool back when we all used to download music of questionable quality off the internet, but less relevant these days.
You can also get an iTunes Match subscription. No idea what it goes for these days but it’s a bit cheaper than Apple Music (doesn’t give you access to any music but lets you sync your music in iTunes to all your devices - still requires a Mac or PC to use though).
tvOS supports VPN connections directly on the Apple TV. Haven’t tried it myself but I assume you just download the Tailscale app, set it up, and then it should just work.

I felt Ollie should have gotten DOTD over Lewis. 20th to 10th and points (well, a point) in a Haas seems more impressive than 9th to 5th in a Ferrari.
Enjoyed the race though! But this is multiple weeks now where we’ve had issues with the graphics during the race. This week was the most egregious but there’s been multiple examples in 2025 where they’ve turned off the timing on screen because of problems, often with some of the animations freezing or causing driver names to overlap. Wonder what happened to it in the off season?
and correct it in the system
Have you dealt with any large company’s first level support these days? They’re not empowered to do anything in the system in the vast majority of cases (to be clear, this isn’t a dig at support, it’s at the companies that don’t give their staff the tools to actually do their job).
Yes, most people can spot an obvious error, but actually correcting it in the system is usually much more difficult.
This is one where it isn’t just that though. You know there would be people who’d wait for someone to go to the bathroom or fall asleep and then walk past and hit the OK button for them.
I know it’s not out yet but I feel pretty confident adding Persona 6 to this list too.
Sunk cost fallacy is probably the most obvious one that springs to mind. Not unlike gambling in a sense, people feel they just need one big payout to win it all back and then some, so they keep betting, hoping that this time things will go in their favour.
Or if Lando has car problems and has to take a new engine or something and ends up at the back of the grid.
