Believe it or not, some people will spend money to gain a position of power to run a company into the ground. If you cant just buy it and kill it, you make sure someone gets near the levers of power to run it into the ground.

The past is prologue. If this startup was happening in any other country I would give it a chance. But it has zero chance of success here because of… checks notes… greed, corruption, weaponization of venture capital, weaponization of regulatory state and many many more.

I had a medical procedure in my early 20’s where they put a camera up my urethra. Prior to the procedure they filled it with lidocaine or something similar so I did not feel a thing. The purpose was to get a look inside my bladder. It was not a pleasant experience with a frequent urge to pee after a terrible urge that produced perhaps a drop or two. This went on about every 15 minutes for the rest of the day. It was misery. So when I hear of another side to the story had they not filled me full of lidocaine. I can’t help but be amazed at what a difference perspective makes ones experiences, and how that can inform the rest of our lives.

The billionaires have money and power. They do not need or want more money, what they want is more power. The existing power structures with all the laws and democratic processes put more barriers in their way than they like. They see America is in decline, and climate change rapidly approaching (which will wake the moronic masses when it begins to burn down their homes and starve their children). They have assessed that the most efficient way to get more power is just to hasten the decline of America, and all those pesky laws and democratic processes. Then they can build their kingdoms on the bones of what is left.

Trump is a symptom. The problem is billionaires. In your scenario, the billionaires are still billionaires.

Elections… ha! Obviously Trump is keeping him outside the loop on future plans.

Unfortunately, I am of the same opinion. I think the only chance we have is a giant solar storm that fries all of the circuitry on earth.

I have come around to the view that you do not need to “wrench the wealth out of the hands of the hoarders”. You could also disappear that wealth.
