It was originally something else, people from a certain place used it differently, and now it’s its own word. I was being snarky, I myself use ‘American,’ at the end of the day, who cares?
Like I said, English speakers. English isn’t the only language, and in most other languages it’s closer to Statesman.
As I stated in a comment below, it’s like having the one friend who burst into the room and declaring himself ‘the Bossman guy’ and every other nation in the world was like "okay Kyle, we’ll call you the Bossman Guy since your parents are rich and you’re a violent bully and we don’t want to fight you on your identity issues.

It’s a good goal. I was raised religious but actually left dogmatic religion precisely because I read the bible, and then parts of other religious literature from other faiths.

“Estados Unidos” is United States, and “-ense” is a suffix referring to origin or belonging.

I mean, if you looked at my post history to see I was born in South America you’d have seen that I refer to myself as an American, like from the US.
That being said, using words incorrectly like “nationalist,” especially “nationalist South American,” which according to your fee-fees is a continent, not a nation, just goes to prove the point I made.
Also “colonial.” You’re just throwing buzzwords without understanding them, or rather, you’re just throwing words without understanding them.
I was clearly being snarky about it, language is ever flowing, changing, and contradicting itself with words such as ‘napron’ into ‘apron,’ ‘metaphorically’ into ‘literally,’ or the thousands of borrowed words that mean what they are like ‘hound dog’ and ‘chai tea.’

When someone says it’s stupid that in Spanish cars are male and clouds are female I don’t clutch my pearls, I laugh and agree that it’s stupid.

It could be counted as IP infringement, corporate espionage, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, trademark abuse, and I’m sure various other things an actual lawyer would know.
I hate large companies and corporations, I think Nintendo is extremely horrible with a lot of their practices, especially regarding abandonware, archiving, and emulation, but when someone commits various crimes, especially unapologetically and without a just cause, they’re still a criminal.
This is a case of a selfish prick of a man being a criminal against a selfish prick of a company.

In everyday conversation, it’s what you feel.
I was born in South America, moved to the US when I was a child. I’m an adult now, my main language is English, I think in English, I grew up here, I have a life here.
If someone asked “what” I am, I say “I’m american, but I was born in South America.” It can be either a fun conversation, or a filter for judgy people I don’t want around me.
If I moved to Germany, I would still say I’m an American, because it’s the culture I know, the place I grew up, the identity I choose.
I don’t deny my heritage, I still enjoy Salteñas once a month with my family, I speak Spanish to my son to make sure he doesn’t forget it, I look Hispanic, I still have fond memories of being a child in another country, but I never say I’m “Bolivian-American,” because by circumstances of life I just have more identity of my life, here.

I try to find something analogous. If I had the option to remove a poisonous plant from my home, I didn’t because of personal choice, and my child ate the plant and died, I would consider it neglect.
Legally however, not even judges will agree with each other on this.
This is why we need government that isn’t in the pocket of corporations.
We need something like lawmakers having to disclose their tax information annually. If you want to be in office and make millions you should be willing to put your morals on the review table.
