#Blind #RaspberryPi owners: what’s your favorite thing to do with your Raspberry Pi? I’m looking into different #SelfHosted services and projects to see what I might like to do, but it would be cool to hear from others who’ve had a Pi for longer. What kinds of stuff do you do with yours? Maybe you’ll give me some ideas.

@RareBird15 @mastoblind @main build dectalk and code a free open source btspeak ulternative? That’s my idea with mine. Dectalks on github and it’s not that hard to compile for arm64. And then, I plan later down the line to work with AI to build an efficient little app that does fun stuff. Once I figure out how BTSpeak people managed to build their braille module, ooo that’ll be fun. I can’t wait to either get my hands on a pi image or have it explained by someone who knows what they’re doing. But that’s the idea, a free btspeak ulternative. Or, at least a free build guide that builds something very similar and more truer and freer.

@RareBird15 @mastoblind @main seriously, what did you envision doing with it when you got it?
@Bruce @mastoblind @main Lol I’ve got some ideas. I was just curious what other people do.
@RareBird15 @mastoblind @main I use mine as an all star link node. This is Ham radio related. My pie has a little radio board on it, transmitting at 0.5W. This is literally all I use it for.
@RareBird15 @mastoblind @main What I have run the most is a PiHole dns setup.
In the past I ran much more but I have moved on to a 1l thinkcentre and proxmox.
@linusoderlind @mastoblind @main I’ve heard of PiHole but don’t know much about it. I might have to check it out.
@linusoderlind @RareBird15 @main Sorry to hijack this, but how accessible is proxmox at the moment with either Jaws or NVDA?
@techsinger @RareBird15 @main I do not use either of those so I don’t know. Sorry.
@linusoderlind @RareBird15 @main I shouldn’t have limited it like that. With whatever screen reader you use, is it usable and are there any tricks? Thanks for the reply.
