Nothing will push them to vote Dem.

They may vote for an independent candidate or not vote at all, but they will not vote Dem, regardless of how many Dem policies align with their own.

Some of them actually will. Not everyone who dumbly voted for Trump is a hardcore magat, it just looks that way on social media

I live in maga central and I do know people who’ve changed over to voting for Dems.

There’s really no need for this level of cynicism. I understand why you feel this way but it doesn’t help anything.

Is it really defeatism, though? Simply not voting at all could turn tides. And it’s not like Republicans haven’t proven them right again and again and again and again. Republicans are conditioned HARD to never, ever consider voting for a Democrat.

I think it is considering the assertion was they’re never going to change… On an article about them changing.

It’s not saying that Republicans are voting Democrat, though. It’s just saying there’s a surge in votes for Democrats in rural areas that are traditionally conservative. That could mean that Republicans are voting for Democrats, but past evidence suggests it’s far more likely to just be latent Democrats actually bothering to go out and vote in areas where they’d traditionally get drowned out.

Just because many of the MAGA are beyond redemption, people still need to VOTE! A lot of the reason we have trump 2.0 is because 66% of voters didn’t vote.

Obama won in 2012. Trump won in 2016. Then a bunch of his voters switched and Biden won in 2020. And then a bunch of his voters switched to Trump in 2024.

It seems inarguable that a critical number of voters are absolutely capable of changing their minds.

What you’re missing is that not the same amount of people voted in all of those elections. 2012 and 2020 had high voter participation, 2016 and 2024 did not. Trump got fewer votes in 2016 than Romney did in 2012. If everyone who voted for Obama in 2012 had also voted for Clinton, Trump never would have won.

Same thing with ‘24, if everyone who voted for Biden in ‘20 had voted for Harris in ‘24, we never would’ve had Trump 2. This is why I think Trump isn’t very popular, he just wins by default when the Dems run a bad campaign or have an uninspiring candidate (side note, I totally think America is ready for a woman president, just not Clinton or Harris specifically)

No they aren’t. I live in a rural area and independents are basically moderate Democrats without the branding. It’s the only way to win local elections without being in the GOP. And they do win elections pretty regularly

Wouldn’t them voting for an independent candidate still mean they’re not voting for a republican? Wouldn’t that still be a net plus?

Depends. Data centers are a bipartisan issue. Don’t believe the bot feeds that try to play it off as otherwise.

Nailed it. I’ve seen posts on local social media literally descring what you just said. They won’t vote D no matter what, but they wont vote R this election either so they are staying home.
