minus-squareLotrOrc@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·7 hours agoWait seriously? No discs at all? For any games?
minus-squaregarretble@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·4 hours agoNah, that guy is a bit off. I’ve bought several brand new, 2026 titles this year and they all have discs in the box.
minus-squareNonconfrontationaI@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·7 hours agoThe majority as far as I know.
minus-squareanthony43@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·7 hours agoI strongly oppose this view: with my disc drive PS5 I am able to play games I bought second hand and games I borrowed from my local library
minus-squareNonconfrontationaI@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·6 hours agoYeah, those games are by far the minority.
minus-squaregarretble@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·4 hours agoI have literally bought the last few brand new, 2026 PS5 games on disc. I’m getting Control Resonant this week on disc. If you mean GTAVI, then yeah that’s bonkers. But you can get most games with a physical disc currently.
minus-squareNonconfrontationaI@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·4 hours agoSounds like it’s gotten better? I remember it being a shit show before I sold my ps5.
minus-squaregarretble@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·4 hours agoOur experiences may just have been a bit different and we got different games, but all of my physical boxes have a disc in them that I can remember. I actually went back to buying discs this year because my brother lives close by now and we can share the games. Thankfully that’s still an option.
minus-squareNonconfrontationaI@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·4 hours agoYeah sharing discs is one of the few benefits of console, I was pissed when most of the games I bought were redemption codes. I’ll never buy another console again after the accelerated enshittification of the companies who own them.
