Donald Trump came to Syracuse hoping to energize Republicans ahead of the midterm elections. Instead, one of the defining images of his visit may be the furious reception waiting for him outside.

I don’t know how politics work. But I hope all his campaigning has precisely opposite the intended effect.

It’s partly his dementia and partly the way he’s been nurtured from infancy. He probably cannot comprehend that he isn’t everyone’s special boy, especially given how he’s immersed himself in algorithmically-weighted content for decades.

His reality does not match to actual reality. He probably thinks the protesters were paid or some bullshit like that, but in fact, they’re just regular full-time workers whose pay doesn’t cover basic necessities anymore, and he promised to fix it and made it worse.

I protest regularly and every so often get the maga asking how much im paid so they are all deep in that rabbit hole. Like everything with them every accusation is an admission and I can totally see them doing that. None of us out there want to be doing it with our time but we also want to live in a democracy with rights and that is not aweful for the average citizen.

His dad was an incredible racist and raised him on race horse theory which is essentially dog whistle racism and classism sorta mushed together. He believes he’s a race horse and he’s too fuckin dumb to understand any horse can be a race horse and honestly some race horses are losers and always will be.

It’s really not, if you ask me.

Donald only had a chance because Democrats ignored the cost of living crisis when they had the power to improve people’s living conditions. If they had done anything meaningful, anything… they’d have won. Hell, homelessness jumped 18% just in Biden’s final year as president.

Instead, they tried to gaslight people as if they don’t do their own grocery shopping or pay their own bills. They were, and are, so out of touch it’s made actual, legit socialists electable, which is historic.

Your right. I can’t argue against that. Republicans won elections because Democrats stopped voting, they didn’t turn Republican they just didn’t vote.

I’m still mad at those who allowed trump to win a second term. I really can’t forgive them. Roe vs Wade being over turned, ICE, the Palestinian genocide, AI, were truly screwed, not voting wasn’t worth it

That is by far the most likely outcome of the mid-terms too.

I don’t think deep red voters will flip, but I do think a meaningful percentage of them simply won’t vote, given that it’s evidently a waste of their time to do so.

I disagree here. Results were not immediate but many things done, if not reversed, were good for everyone and certainly preferable to things bad for everyone. The real problem is its easy to destroy and not easy to build. The next democrat will not be able to fix everything in one term and people need to get that.
