Donald Trump pledged Wednesday to send every American adult $5,000 if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections, an extraordinary gambit to reverse his party’s sagging fortunes in November.
The dubious promise would likely cost more than $1 trillion and require congressional approval, and would further exacerbate the country’s nearly $1.8 trillion annual budget deficit and concerns about inflation.
If you think you’re going to receive $5,000 if Republicans win the 2026 election, then you don’t realize who made you need the extra $5,000 in the first place.
Exactly. Idk about you, but Trump has undoubtedly cost me way more than $5k with just his 2 years back in office. And that’s before considering the catastrophic long-term effects he’s had on costs.

Now I need to look up real mileage and real driving distances too, it’s probably closer to 12k miles a year on average, but the real costs from expensive fuel are obviously the food production costs, and the delivery of everything.
