Anyone know where to find the Android (and PMOS eventually) settings for eSIM? Running Lineage OS without gapps for now, in a MAJOR metropolitan area with plenty of cell coverage from both T-Mobile & ATT. Basic cell data seems to work without doing anything special, but calls on cheogram are spotty at best - pretty much unusable. general web browsing seems to work OK and I even see 5G in my phone’s status bar, but calling on Signal app fails as well. I even started seeing"Network failure" errors. Everything works perfectly if I switch back to my SIM card from a T-Mobile MNVO.

seems like this eSIM requires some config to work well with my local towers, but I can’t find any documentation online. What am I missing?

Do you have the JMP sim management app? Have you asked in the Sopranica support channel?

If u mean the app for transferring between eSIM & physical SIM - yes, and I’ve ordered the corresponding SIM kit but it hasn’t arrived yet. I reached out to the support number/jabber address but haven’t heard back. in fairness, I only started testing in ernest late Friday, and I know their support has more of a M-F schedule.

In the meantime I was reaching out to the broader community hoping to learn where the documentation is posted. I would love to learn (for example) which APN to select, if R for roaming is a normal status bar visual (regardless of whether roaming is enabled), and should I enable roaming? I can’t find any documentation pages anywhere online, and their FAQ doesn’t address these fairly basic questions.

fwiw, my calls also aren’t that great, but rebooting my phone helps with it.

i use a physical sim so it might be different for you.

support had me select the “plus” (aka “Plus INTERNET”) APN for my phone in my area; so far it seems to have really helped. You might try the same if your phone sees similar APN choices.

i’m surprised to hear it since support told me that they don’t know of any other apn setting that i could try.

mind sharing the instructions that they gave you?

" …We have seen some devices work better when set to “LTE only” even if they are 5G-capable, so that’s worth trying. You’ll also want to make sure the APN is set to “plus”, though that should happen automatically… "

" …It looks like the “plus” APN has the name “Plus INTERNET” (the actual APN is the smaller text under the name). We don’t have any specific documentation because largely things are expected to work out of the box and any adjustments we’ve found vary from one model device to the next. Since your JMP phone number uses any available data connection and doesn’t connect to the cell network’s calling, having 4G calling or video calling enabled or disabled shouldn’t make a difference. That said, we’ve seen some devices work better with VoLTE enabled even though it’s not used by your JMP phone number… "
