I hate chipmunks tbh. they’ll just sit in one spot and call loudly and repeatedly for hours. imagine a star wars blaster sound played three times per second for the whole day, that’s what having chipmunks near your house is like

I’d rather be woken by and have the ambient noise created by the sounds of nature than keep hearing loud ass cars and machinery everywhere.

sure, but given whatever other soundscape, if I could choose to have it with chipmunks or without chipmunks, I would definitely choose without. so encouraging more of them to hang around seems (pardon the pun) nuts

I wonder if they don’t have to call as much when they are all just hanging around the free food house.

When I went to Philmont (one of the most popular BSA high adventure camps), the chipmunks were known as Mini Bears. That’s because they would destroy a campsite as thoroughly as a, bear would.

Thy were also well aware it was a nature preserve and would try to snatch food right out of your hands.
