Mamdani’s amazing. We need more like him in this world.

Striving for labour rights (especially of the proletariat), striving for more freedom of speech, better health through bicycles and public transit, and so on…

And that is indeed what you can do. Join a trade union, vote for and join a progressive left-wing group (or support them financially), strike, riot, help others out. And question the views of those at risk of radicalising, but don’t attack them; make them feel welcomed. Don’t click on content in ways that would promote the hatred’s views.

Remind me which party wants to label trans people as paedophiles so they can be executed?

Save the vitriol for scum out to exterminate us, dink.

In that case, I would hope that you’re able to recognise that he (and others like him, who you may disagree with on many topics, but in alignment in terms of your views on trans rights) is a valuable ally in the fight for trans rights.

We can work together towards a shared goal without needing to be aligned on every matter. Some of those areas of disagreement may end up becoming relevant in trying to tackle different problems, but if we want to make any effective change, we need to cross that bridge when we come to it. In the meantime, we should focus on gathering allies where we can — especially when the matter is something so crucial as defending trans rights
