If the US had a capable, strong president, they could easily have avoided this war.
Trump is susceptible to Israeli blackmail, and too many US politicians are sitting in AIPACs pockets. This, not political reasons, made this war happen.
From what I understand, Bibi has tried this with every previous American President. Trump was the first President to both not understand himself the logical consequences of attacking Iran (see, everything), and also to have fired (or not hired) anyone who might advise him or even speak to him the way two adults with actual responsibilities would speak to each other. There’s simply no one dumber to have ever sat in high office. Not since the Hapsburgs.
So unless I’m mistaken and there was someone else running in 2024 as dumb as Trump (maybe Caillou?), I see no reason to believe this would have happened but for Trump.
