Quick clarification of terms, since I think you are using them incorrectly. In general, liberals, progressives and leftists ideologies are categorized as such.

    • Liberals want to make capitalism fair.
    • Progressives want to regulate it.
    • Leftists want to move beyond it.

In the current US political environment the three terms are best used to describe the following groups.

    • Liberals - Clinton, Obama, Biden, Schummer, etc. What we in Lemmy tend to describe as the “Democratic establishment”.
    • Progressives - AOC, Bernie, Mamdami, etc. The Democratic socialists that want to fix and reform the current system.
    • Leftists - Almost always anti-capitalism. Want to replace the system if possible.

You know the lib.world brainrot is bad when you can give them verifiable truths and they disregard all of it because of your instance.

Leftists want to move beyond it.

That’s not always true. Many self described leftists support authoritarian state capitalism.

Generalizations are bad, mmmmmkay. Not everyone in .ml is marxist/lenninist. For a very long time .ml was Lemmy’s main instance and is still very tech focused. A two second glance at my history would have clued you in.
