I want to use animated stickers (webp extension) but it doesn’t work, any idea?
that is not webp, it is animated png which is not supported at the moment, animated webp is supported, you can convert the animated png to animated webp online, it actually even makes them much smaller
Ostia… on my mobile this file was a webp, after uploading here it has been changed to apng… maybe it’s a apng with the extension changed, because the size is exactly the same, so doesn’t seem a conversion… thanks!
the file likely have .webp extension in your device, but extensions are meaningless, you can rename any file to .webp but that doesn’t make it a webp, the file was named with .webp extension but in reality it was an animated png, when you uploaded it here probably this site figured out the mime-type and changed the extension of the uploaded file accordingly 😁
The extension change happens when i download the file from signal stickers site, it’s detected as webp file despite being an animated png, I’ve download several stickers and it’s a common problem. I can convert it with imagemagick but then increase the size of the file
