A DUI in California will run you about $20K all told. I would guess the fine would be less. But leaving the car where it was and getting a parking ticket and Uber fare back in the morning would probably still be cheaper.

places without sidewalks where cars are the only transit solution… lots of places like that in the US. Still shitty planning not having a designated driver.

or dumbfucks. there’s a lot of those too.

But then take an Uber there? I mean it can’t be the solution to plan to DUI later on? And if you end up taking an Uber home you’ll still have to go there eventually to get your car the next day?

I was about to say, this absolutely would be dui where I’m from. Someone I know got popped for dui for being in the driver’s seat sleeping it off, car turned off in a parking lot and keys in the fucking bushes.

Yeah, it’s a rediculous set up. Had it happen to a friend, he was parked in the apartment complex lot. Didn’t want to chance driving home after dropping off his friend and realizing he should just sleep it off. I guess next time he knows to just go sleep at his friends, but what a way to impact your life so badly

Assuming it’s not made up, I dare say they had to be booked for something, otherwise the next evening there’d be a parade of cars being pushed home from their local watering holes

I mean if people really want to go through that extra effort, let ‘em have it I say.
