I’d just like to clarify that it is not the responsibility of any of us to do an ethics review. We are not responsible for any of the data we collect. The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board for the study. We are only being asked to do this because our research project is the subject of this study and we believe it is ethical to do so. This is not an endorsement of the study by the Institutional Review Board. And while we are aware that the researchers are doing this out of curiosity, we can’t possibly allow you to access their study. We just want to make sure we’re not inadvertently doing research for our own benefit and want to do what is best for the project, not to be complicit in the transphobia of this study. (And we don’t want the researchers to be the target of criticism for what they’re doing.)
