Explanation: On the Western Front in WW1, unofficial truces were sometimes honored between the warring sides for holidays, especially religious holidays, though the brass tried to crack down on it (often successfully).

On the Eastern Front in WW1, unofficial truces were sometimes honored between the warring sides because fucking wolves developed a taste for human flesh from starvation from all the war scaring off their usual prey. These included officer-approved truces, because being attacked by wolves was something both sides agreed was a poor way to go in a shooting war.

I feel the same. I learn something new almost every day thanks to PugJesus. Learning about history through memes is fun!

It can be so bleak on here lately what with… everything. But every morning I see a bunch of owls and there’s usually a post or two from PugJesus and I appreciate them both

Good memes, but keep in mind they’re occasionally pure American propaganda.

I don’t keep track, but I remember a few posts about Yugoslavia being good examples.

What do historical relations have to do with you parroting propaganda?

Also, check your notes again, Yugoslavia was never formally allied with the USA… And while you’re at it, remind me how many of the unaligned countries were invaded by the USA?

Post history is public. If you want to make a statement like that without providing a simple example, you’re clearly trolling and stirring up bullshit.

This is how I cement my understanding that this is the Russians v Germans, not China v Japan (or other Asian countries). They would have used the wolf attacks to gain an advantage. /S, mildly
