You’re fucking kidding me. This deserves to be set aside for midmorning, when I’m all alone, with the big headphones. This is an event.

I know enough about psychopathy specifically to know it would be interesting to try for a few hours, but longer than that it might ruin my life. My sense of empathy often gives me grief, but it serves a purpose.

It’s also exciting for food in general; imagine if it gets good enough at reproducing every type of scent. Every type of flower scent. You could virtually train your palate, reawaken it after years of neglect, learn to detect the scents of various pollutants or poisons even.

My excitement for this sort of thing is greatly dampened however; likely it will be used for grim, dull, heartless moneymaking schemes by big tech.

I was ranting about this the other day, I’m afraid that most people, at least most Americans, are not good enough at standing up to authority for America to fundamentally work as it is supposed to. Some jobs, especially in politics and law, inherently require a pathological John Adams-like willingness to be a problem for the whole ship to stay afloat.

Sometimes I wish I could take psychopathy for a test drive, just to see what it’s like to be emotionally invulnerable for a day. This is the kind of thing I’d want to do.

The older I get, the more I agree with Calvin’s dad. Adjusted for inflation, he wished gas was about $20 per gallon. Let’s fucking do it.

My hometown. I have come around to the way it looks without the viaduct. A lot of wistful homecomings featured a trip past the skyline, so it took me a while to get used to the idea. But, it does look good this way.
