“What do you use for your creative design stuff?”
“Canva”

It’s a brand now. But the name predates duct tape by 50-odd years. It came from the “cotton duck cloth” used in the design.

(inside)
Well thanks for putting that hilarious image in my head of what (outside) looks like!

They’re also close to buyitforlife territory. Mine is >15 years old (1st gen i5!). The AM4 mount would’ve been free if I had the original receipt. But alas, I had to fork out $10 cause I was too dumb to have taken a photo of it back then.
Eh, I don’t know. Ours had no trouble talking in full sentences by 2 without it. I’m interested to see some data.
Also our indicator of “pay attention to this” was, well, giving them some attention. Eye contact, touch, etc.
But yeah, sample size of one. Maybe you’re right. I don’t know. Kids are weird. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

Can’t be disgraced if you have no grace *taps forehead
Huh interesting. We had a chat with our midwife and she offhandedly said it would be easier on parents to skip the baby talk/voice, and just speak in your normal calm voice so the baby gets used to the “real” you.
I guess your story perfectly illustrates her point.

Haha! Not today, Onion. Not falling for this one.
*Looks at community…
Oh, come on!

I enjoyed drag as well
Took me way too long trying to figure out how that has anything to do with the topic at hand.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen Drag. I wonder if Drag is okay.

I don’t care whom you’re attracted to, but you might want to keep this one to yourself… Unless you’re in the FBI!
It’s bad practice to dangle your participles; in between or anywhere else.

If it fails the second time, that’s reproducibility.
If it fails randomly then starts working again the next day without any changes, that’s when you get yourself a headache. And it took someone’s wife, a year later, to figure out the failures only happen on Tuesdays.

The more you move through the networking stack, the more you start seeing OB1 error potentials.
Many protocols have packet ids starting from (and wrapping back to) 1. Modbus registers start from 1, but stored in memory offset 0.
Packet lengths can either include or exclude the length itself. E.g. packet length 200 in a protocol could either mean the length is followed by 200 bytes of data; or 1 byte containing the length + 199 data; or even 4 bytes length + 196 data (off by four!)
It’s a wild world out there.

I don’t know. Reading the wiki on NPD, it feels like megalomania is an extreme version of the grandiose subtype of NPD. Maybe with some flavour of sociopathy added.
IANAPsychologist, so… /shrug

I’ve been told by my Thai friends that many of their food have variants that exclude fish sauce. This is mainly done for the benefit of the vegan Buddhists; a not-insignificant proportion of their population. But that would write off oyster sauce as well, which didn’t explain your observations (or maybe the unusual flavour you’re tasting is faux fish sauce)
But to make Pad Thai with very little or, god forbid, without tamarind - that’s definitely illegal!

narcissistic, megalomaniacal
That actually got me thinking. Are all megalomaniacs also narcissistic?
I shouldn’t be laughing this hard at a joke this stupid…
Now imagining waking the whole neighbourhood up every morning (and sometimes in the dead middle of the night)
Personally I felt Pyre was a little meh. But even their weakest game is still a hell of a lot better than many AAA.
And Darren Korb is one hell of a composer.
Vampire was an instant earworm for me when it came out, because I’m a sucker for the Creep chord progression. That, and her energy in the song.
So it makes the occasional appearance in my otherwise mostly metal-dominated song rotation.
Ironically(?) her cover of Creep a while ago was the first time I heard her voice. It did make me go, “Huh. Not bad at all.”
