Like speaking to an imaginary friend every day, except they’re not your friend they’re your lord and master, and they also speak back to you and you have to obey them or the worst shit imaginable will happen?

2·2 days agoIts at the whims of the DVD author. The only mostly painless way is to ID the files before theyre ripped, using the DVD menu to get the name of the video, and cross reference that with the title number.
Its not in the satirical realm so it wouldn’t be onioney.

Post-war, the orthodoxy in German historiography was that Nazism was a crime committed by a small criminal group, that the German people were the victims of this crime, and that there was nothing specifically German about Nazism.
While functionalism emerged in left-wing historical thought in the 60s, whereby the wider population were held not merely victims but enthusiastic participants in Nazism, the orthodoxy sought to rehabilitate the Third Reich.
This culminated in the Bitburg incident in the mid-80s where Reagan and Kohl participated in a public ceremony to honour all the war dead including the SS buried there. Reagan’s justification was that the SS were just as much victims of the Nazi criminality as the European Jews, and that Germany must shed its war guilt.
So no bullshit at all.
It was heavily covered up in W Germany too.

IoM, Jersey and Gibraltar aren’t part of the UK, so it would be illegal to draft their citizens.
Needless to say, it would be popular among the reform runts, and unpopular amongst everyone else. Electoral suicide for Labour.

2·5 days agoThe entire point of the MCU is to make everyone “need” to watch it all.
Quebec has the highest tax rate in Canada, and is the only province to spend as much as 2% of tax revenue on subsidies for culture and media. Without this, there would be very little homegrown media, as the foreign sale market is so much smaller.
So good news, you don’t have to speak French, just pay more tax and spend it on culture.
