My dad was actually the one that said he wanted to see my grades as a treat. It was Halloween at the time, so my guess is that he used that lol. My Mom is actually pretty honest with me, However, She does often use my dad to try and cover for herself (For example, she’ll say, “ Your dorm room was A mess last year, We couldn’t walk in the doorway. This year, your dad is coming down every weekend to clean it,” And, “ Your dad’s gonna be checking your grades every week, make sure you send them to him.” I don’t know if it’s anxiety, But my mom does have ADD and a tendency to lie sometimes. Thanks for your advice!
Thanks, and I’ll definitely consider it!

Thanks so much!
I wouldn’t call him that, he’s actually quite a good coach. Just a little obsessed with morning practices
Sometimes my parents allow me to be independent, sometimes not. I’ve noticed I’ve done better when they allow me to be independent lol
I can’t disagree with you, the coddling is beneficial when I truly need help with something (like driving) lol.
Exactly, I definitely prefer being in college and not being around them so often, it just makes things a bit easier not being nagged all the time lol
I wouldn’t say he’s abusive, just a loud, stern coach.
That’s the best part! Knowing the first night is over
Right, I always stick to the same schedule on race day lol
Thanks so much! My coach can be strict when it comes to our speed, but he is very compassionate when it comes to our needs.
Yes, everyone tells me I am an amazing writer and also very good at reading, but now in college I haven’t had many opportunities. I’m due that I will soon though.
Most times I use lying as a tool too, it’s just easier to try to not get caught lol
I am the same way! My mom isn’t a narcissist but has a tendency to manipulate me to try and get me to feel bad and listen to her, it used to work, but now I just tell her that her pathos isn’t going to work on me lol
My plan is to hopefully talk about Autism since she’s always bringing it up lol
I still live with my parents outside of college. I am passing all my classes currently but am doing my best to get my grades up in the ones I care about.
Sometimes I do need help, but I was always labeled as a kid for being “special ed,” so I’ve always avoided getting help now that I can make decisions for myself
Thank you! I did kind of mess up the question by only asking for positive affirmations. But it does bring me relief knowing it is ok to go without the flu shot.
